A great BOOTLEG of a classic Neil Young concert...
     Rating:
This is not an official release by any means, nor is it as some seem to think, the same concert as the Rust Never Sleeps film, but rather a different concert at the same venue 6 days later. These are not the same performances but it is an excellent performance well worthy of release.

However, Neil and co. NEVER RELEASED THIS. This is a BOOTLEG. Keep that in mind before you decide to spend money on it.

     Classic Rock at it's Best
     Rating:
If you already have Live Rust you really don't need this unless you're a huge fan of Neil. You get two more tracks on this one: Thrasher and Welfare Mothers. Else,it's the same concert as on the Live Rust album. Cow Palace, San Francisco,1978.

Editorial Reviews for Live In San Francisco Audio Cd
     Album Description
A mind-blowing 1978 concert from the mighty Neil Young, at once the culmination of his classic 1970?s period, and the establishment of his singing, songwriting, and acoustic and electric guitar playing as permanent fixtures in Rock. Shot with enthusiasm at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, before an amped-up audience, the show features six opening songs with a solo Neil accompanying himself on twelve-string acoustic guitar, piano and harmonica - with ?Sugar Mountain? and ?After The Gold Rush? especially benefiting from this stripped-down treatment. When Crazy Horse joins Neil onstage, the rocking really begins. ?When You Dance,? ?Hey Hey,? ?The Needle And The Damage Done,? ?Welfare Mothers,? ?Cortez The Killer,? ?Cinnamon Girl,? and more get extended, passionate expression, with many trademark guitar solos from Neil. The whole experience is dramatized by the presence of a hooded, masked crew known as ?Road-Eyes? - as well as a characteristically Neil Young blend of cynicism and nostalgia that comes with playing snippets of ten-year-old public-address announcements from the Woodstock Festival. Immortal. 2007.
