Reviews Customer Reviews for Xodus Come Ditty Dum! Rating: X-Clan's full body of work is incredible. Once again they are at the top of their game with this album for the ages. Simply put, this album is perfect and fits right in with everything they have put out. Xodus was X-Clan's 2nd effort and the last album before the band split ways. While almost the entire group has since passed on to the crossroads, Brotha J is still going strong... and nowhere is he stronger than on this album. His lines are delivered with such inflection that you can almost see his face as you listen. The lyrics are deep and touch on important themes of our times in only the way that X-Clan could deliver. The production is great. What I like the most about this album is that it is very spiritual. In my opinion, this is the most primal and spiritual of any X-Clan album. Brotha J is the greatest. Oh... you gotta get this! A classic. 5 stars? This should get a zillion stars.
Customer Reviews for Xodus Cd Welcome Black Rating: This review is protected by the red, the black and the green with the key. Sissyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! The first time I heard a song from X Clan was on the show In Living Color. I heard Fire & Earth on that show and was impressed. Brother J has an impressive flow and his voice grabs you and keeps you hanging on to every line. Foreplay begins the album, as Professor X gives you the MO as to why Blackwatch exists. Cosmic Ark comes next as Brother J rips the track in half over the sample of Funky Sensation. A.D.A.M. was the second track I've heard from X Clan and Brother J is still sizzling. Professor X also raps on Cosmic Ark and Fire & Earth(100% Natural). F.T.P. also known as F*** The Police is self-explanatory as Brother J shows that he is fed up with police brutality. Fire & Earth was my favorite track back then from X Clan and you can tell their disdain for 3rd Bass just by listening to the intro. More gems would follow in the form of Holy Rum Swig and Ooh Baby. The rock & roll-inspired Rhythem Of God gets me hype everytime I hear it. As for weaknesses there are none. Unless you count this album being short as a flaw. Bottom Line: X Clan's Xodus is an Xcellent follow up to their first album To The East, Blackwards. The production was great, Brother J's rhymes were still sharp and he still gives you truth in those bars in each track. Its unfortuante that they never got the respect that they deserve and their influence is obvious in certain groups like say Dead Prez. All in all I would recommend this album to anybody who is a fan of conscious hip hop(the best thing that's ever happened to hip hop).
Standout Tracks: COSMIC ARK, A.D.A.M. XODUS,F.T.P., FIRE & EARTH(100% NATURAL), HOLY RUM SWIG, RHYTHEM OF GOD and VERBAL PAPP.
REST IN PEACE PROFESSOR X!!!!
