Reviews Customer Reviews for Part One What a disappointment. Rating: The group did its best; the engineers who constructed this CD did a lousy job of it. The signature song, "Love is All Around" has the end cut-off and does not sound like the much better, radio broadcast version I heard that generated my interest in buying this CD. Those few seconds of time saved cutting off the closing, to squeeze it onto the medium, made the difference between good quality and poor quality. This is a chief complaint I have when buying packaged music and such: a different and usually substandard rendition of a movie, song, etc. that is sold on pre-recorded media verses what one sees and hears through commercial outlets promoting the product. That's how I rate the quality of this CD: second rate.
Customer Reviews for Part One Cd Scottish Soul Rating: Wet Wet Wet lead singer, Marti Pellow has a very special voice. Leave it to great producers like Willie Mitchell (on "The Memphis Sessions") and the former leader of Chic (with Bernard Edwards) the one and only Nile Rodgers, to bring out the power and delicacy of his voice. Just listen to "Cold, Cold Heart" to hear that man sing! I would be the first to hope that Nile Rodgers would produce an entire album with this group. On the strength of this song alone, I recommend this CD, although there is only one other song produced by Nile Rodgers. It's too bad that Wet Wet Wet never gained greater attention in the US, because they are a self-contained band, they play their own instruments(!) and are very talented.
