Reviews Customer Reviews for One Way Ticket To Hell And Back Think outside the box! Rating: These guys don't go by the "norm". That's what's so great about them. Its such a shame that these guys broke up. Justin Hawkins is in a new band named "Hot Leg". They're still working on their first album. Anyway, there isn't anything wrong with going in a different direction than the other bands out there. Do we really need another raspy voice singing about how bad his life is? No. We need these guys who sing diffent sounding songs (diffent from other bands as well as diffent from their other tracks) about drugs, relationships, and don't mind a little profanity. Buy this album and their last one. They're awesome
Customer Reviews for One Way Ticket To Hell And Back Cd Gotta Love Darkness Rating: I remember a few years ago when The Darkness launched their first album and single. The video was hilarious with them poking fun at the whole rock "thang" but at least they were having fun with it and not taking it seriously, like the bands they were mocking. So now they are back with an album produced by Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, The Cars). Now original bassist Frankie Pouillan, even though he did co-write a few of the songs, is replaced by Richie Edwards.
The album opens with an intro and someone snorting coke. The album is much like what you'd hear on a Queen album especially on the songs "Hazel Eyes" and "Knockers". They are the kings of pumping out the power ballads. It is much like what you've heard from them in the past, but this time they've added more instruments to the mix like bagpipes. Justin Hawkins surely can hit those high notes.
