Customer Reviews for Can T Fight Fate Cd Taylor sells her songs without even trying--and that's no small feat !!! Rating: Taylor Dayne's explosive album, Can't Fight Fate, shows us Taylor at her very best. Her voice is rich, warm and vibrant; and she gives blood to please her audience. This CD amply proves it.
The track set begins with her hit "With Every Beat Of My Heart." The arrangement for this pop vocal hit uses percussion, drums, horns and more to bolster Taylor's performance. The melody is memorable; and Taylor sings this flawlessly--awesome! "I'll Be Your Shelter" slows down the tempo a bit for a slightly more mellow, thoughtful ballad; Taylor sings this like the pro that she is! Love that percussion! The guitars on "I'll Be Your Shelter" work well as Taylor sings of her loyalty to her man even when things in life get rough. Great!
"Love Will Lead You Back" touches me with its beauty and its message. Taylor sings of how she must say goodbye to her man; and although he is leaving her she sings of how she will always be waiting for him to come back to her. The percussion, drums and subtle key and tempo changes enhance the natural beauty of "Love Will Lead You Back." Taylor sings this song so well you really are rooting for her to get her man back!
"You Can't Fight Fate" gives us Taylor doing her usual excellent job as she does a classic 1980s type of pop song. She sings to her man that he will come back to her--sooner rather than later, too. Great electric guitar, drums and percussion! Taylor also shows off her full vocal range for "You can't Fight Fate," too. "Wait For Me" also sports that late 1980s pop sound; and Taylor never misses a note on "Wait For Me." Great female backup, too.
"Ain't No Good" ends the CD real strong; Taylor delivers this pop song with a whole lot of style, energy and passion. "Ain't No Good" uses some great guitar, drums and percussion as Taylor bats this one straight out of the ballpark!
The liner notes include some great artwork; and we get both the lyrics and credits for each song.
Taylor Dayne truly remains a star in the sky; and I hope this album is back in print soon. If you like 1980s pop, you'll want to get this terrific album.
