Reviews Customer Reviews for 40 Oz To Freedom My Reason For Loving Music Rating: I was in 7th grade when I got this CD and so began my love for music. I memorized this CD inside and out, every note, every lyric. A friend of mine said that the first album by a band is always the best becuase it is pure and just for the love of making music. In this case this statement is true, although I give a 5 star rating to the rest of their albums as well. Sublime does not limit their style to one genre which is just one of the reasons they are the greatest band ever.
Customer Reviews for 40 Oz To Freedom Cd Review of the CD 40 oz to Freedom I purchased Rating: I am very satisfied with the product that I purchased. Editorial Reviews for 40 Oz To Freedom Audio Cd Amazon.com Ska music has been deeply ingrained in the punk rock culture since the Clash adopted their rude boy stance near the end of the British punk invasion and the 2-Tone label put ska on the map. Suddenly, punks stopped kicking the crap out of each other long enough to dance. The debut release by Orange County, California's Sublime is a positively infectious record that marries varied styles of dub, reggae, rap, sampling, scratching, and badass dancehall ska with old-school punk overtones. Musicianship on this record is exceptionally tight, featuring Brad Nowell's innovative guitar work and bright, soulful voice. Packed with 40 oz. of rock (21 tracks) including the ultimate pot-smoking anthem "Smoke Two Joints" and the novelty hit "Date Rape." --Gail Worley
