Reviews Customer Reviews for Live Nurnberg Messezentrum If you are a Rainbow fan how could you NOT want these!? Rating: This is the final installment in the 76 tour import cd releases. I now have all three. My favorits are the "Dusseldorf" and this "Nurnberg" show. They are very expensive but in my opinion totally worth having. They are for the serious Rainbow freaks and are NOT bootlegs. They are way better than the official "On Stage" album. Excellent quality remixed from the original tapes I beleieved are owned by Blackmore as his current manager sanctions them on the cover.(Carol Stevens from Blackmore's Night) NO-ONE EVER KNEW THESE TAPES WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE 30 YEARS LATER! so in that context alone they are amazing. Each on has it's own desitinctive moments. Yes the song selection is the same on each double cd but every solo and improvisation is totally different.(by all members) Tony Carey is sooo much better than David Stone was. He was great with the analog synths! The version of "Stargazer" is really great here. These are going to dissappear fast..I guarantee it so if you want it go for it now! YES EXPENSIVE but cd's are fading fast and these unique moments by the original touring line-up are great to have!
Customer Reviews for Live Nurnberg Messezentrum Cd Like Deep Purple, too many live releases, but... Rating: If you don't have the 6 cd set, Live in Germany, then you ought to buy this. As many Rainbow fans already know, Ritchie did not vary the sets he played on this tour. Therefore, all the differences lie in the subtleties of each song. So, that said, can this cd stand out from the others? I think not. But if you only own "On Stage" then you NEED to buy this to taste a true concert from the Dio/Powell era. Unedited, songs in order. If you're a Rainbow fan, then, like Purple, you buy it and put it in the rotation with your other live Rainbow cds. I will never dis Ritchie and I find myself hard-pressed to think he needed to release this. So, I won't give it 5 stars since I think this is a record company greed thing. Also, there are far too many 1976 tour live cds out there. If the record company released some 1978 shows and a Bonnet show or 2, then I'd be very excited.
