Reviews Customer Reviews for Boogaloo Just great music. Rating: Varied, tight and produced very well. I've had this CD for a few years and every time I listen to it, it grows on me just a bit more. I wouldn't consider my Nazareth collection complete without it. Hearing that cool drum heartbeat emulation in "Nothing so good" is the by Sweet Jr. is rather moving to me and the kind of stuff I expect from Nazareth. This is truly an excellent album. But it's way beyond that. A group of mature men playing Rock and Roll that makes sense and is true to the soul of the matter. This album is articulate and offers nuances that are amazing. Every time I listen I find more and more subtlties that only the best artists take the time and have the talent to put in their songs. The complexities and time they put in this CD really show the experience the band has. Enormous attention to detail and I for one truly appreciate that.
If you like the way good solid rock and roll was meant to be played. Get this. The groups writing skills are dead on. Dan's singing ability is absolutley stunning. I feel this is the best they've done without Manny and I feel it's even better than some of the stuff when he was with them. If they stay on this course with their next effort, they'll be doing Rock and Roll a great justice.
Customer Reviews for Boogaloo Cd Excellent - Nazareth fans should appreciate this one a lot Rating: As with many, if not most Nazareth albums, you must give this album some serious listening time before coming to any conclusions as far as rating it. The first few listens won't be too impressive (typical for Nazareth). But a true Nazareth fan understands that their music almost always tends to grow on you and sooner or later (usually sooner) you're putting away your other favorite rock band albums in favor of Nazareth, who have always been under-rated for whatever reason. Nazareth is simply a band whose tunes are hard to get out your head. Why? There's just something about this band that prompts you to pick up a beer and crank it up on the best stereo you've got. It's typical Nazareth - happy, up-beat rock that is fun to listen to. "Cheerleader" is about the only song on this album I still haven't gotten in to yet after about a month. The rest are great. Narareth really brings out some excellent, truly original blend of horns and guitars on this CD and they show the audience that they still have what it takes to really rock and not just make noise. The horns really add a touch of class just like some of the background vocals Nazareth has used in the past. This band and CD is a real class rock act and I highly recommend it, especially to a Nazareth fan.
