Reviews Customer Reviews for Fire And Blood 2pc Ok, I just ordered it Rating: I'll enter an actual review after I see this DVD; I just ordered it. But why in the world would anyone compare Manowar to Aerosmith? Spewing venom isn't a review. Geez; what did Manowar ever do to you? Very strange. Emotions running wild!
Customer Reviews for Fire And Blood 2pc Cd The greatest Manowar dvd, power and strength in top form. Rating: This is a great work of heavy metal. The band's power is presented very well with lots of good quality performances from the band's prime years, and the additional material is all good. Alot of video footage from the same recordings of the live Hell on Stage live cd, their greatest works of their classic era are chronicled here.
-disc 1 takes footage from various concerts and adds introductions and some commentary from the band about the signifigance of the song or specific performance. Some great comments are given by guitarist Karl Logan especially.
-disc 2 is a full concert in south america and some passionate commentary about the concert and the entire legacy of Manowar from a journalist. The extra material here was something i was sceptical of, seemingly useless, but it turned out to be very satisfying. I declare myself a true fan of the group after taking in all of these experiences.
I own the 1st and 4th Manowar dvds, both of which have too much talking, too much wasted time. On the first dvd, the sound quality isn't very consistant or good, and on the 4th, the song selection and performance quality drops dramatically. I believe that Fire and Blood is really the band in it's prime. The sound quality and visual spectacle is very well done here.
It is a dvd that may open the eyes of the ignorant to the often unheard gems of manowar's career (the songs Gates of Valhalla, Bridge of Death, Guyana, excellent bass and guitar solo spots)
i often feel sorry that many people do not know much about Manowar, or that they only see the cheesy and brutish aspects of the band. This dvd captures some of the true spirit that the band should be known for, true heavy metal power and majesty. HAIL AND KILL and so on, Manowar is truly great.
