Reviews Customer Reviews for The Immaculate Collection If you like old-school Madonna, this is it! Rating: I've owned this 1990 CD release since 1993. It was the first CD I ever bought. This CD covers Madonna's best songs from her 1983-1989 albums. Everything from "Holiday" to "Vogue". All of these songs are rerecorded versions of the originals, so they sound a little different than the originals. Thankfully they didn't stray too far from the originals though. They are not crappy remixes or anything of that nature, just slightly updated for the time (1990). This is still one of my favorite CD's of my ever growing collection. I love about 15 of the 18 total songs, and that's unheard of!
Customer Reviews for The Immaculate Collection Cd Madonna's Greatest! Rating: This is a great collection of all of my favorite Madonna songs. I miss the Madonna of the 80's, so this was my ideal choice of Greatest Hits. Love it!
Editorial Reviews for The Immaculate Collection Audio Cd Amazon.com essential recording The naughtily titled Immaculate Collection culls 15 of Madonna's Top 10 singles from 1984 to mid-'90, plus 2 new ones that continued the run (the dirty, trunk-bumping funk of "Justify My Love"--a Lenny Kravitz production that justifies his entire career--and the danceable desperation of "Rescue Me"). Rooted in disco and classic AM pop from girl groups and ABBA to Strawberry Alarm Clock, Madonna made savvy, touching music throughout her first golden era. These tracks retain their sonic and historical significance while, like "She Loves You" or "Rocket Man," still brightening any space they're being played in. Far more than just a wise, irreverent image-maker--like the Beatles or Elton, come to think of it--Madonna during these years was the gift that kept on giving, forever fresh, sexy, hooky, and joyously sharp. --Rickey Wright
