Reviews Customer Reviews for Killing With A Smile A different sound. Rating: This is my first experience listening to Parkway Drive. I must say, I was very impressed after only listening to the first track. The rest of the album failed to disappoint. I'm not big on labels, but this band still retains that hardcore/metalcore style, yet they take it in a totally different direction. Even though they hail from Australia, their sound is reminiscent of New England bands such as Unearth and Killswitch Engage. Make no mistake, however, Parkway Drive has their own unique sound. The guitars are multilayered and they still manage to throw in some sick breakdowns. My favorite tracks are "Killing With a Smile", "Anasais(Xenophontis" and "Guns for Show, Knives for a Pro". The whole album is awesome, though! Check it out!
Customer Reviews for Killing With A Smile Cd Simply amazing! Rating: "Killing With A Smile" is Parkway Drive's full length debut on Epitaph records. This is a very great cd. From the first few seconds off of the album's opening song "Gimme A D", you know you're in for a wild ride. Breakdown after crushing breakdown, this cd delivers. Parkway Drive not only possess the awesome bone shattering breakdowns that will get stuck in your head, they also feature a versatile vocalist who doesn't just scream in the same monotone voice for the entire album, as well as clever lyrics that don't just talk about love and girls. Bottom line: If you're into heavy music, get this cd.
Editorial Reviews for Killing With A Smile Audio Cd Album Description Australia's Parkway Drive follow in the footsteps of Unearth, Bleeding Through, and Evergreen Terrace, and they've amassed a huge amount of respect in a very short time in both the metal and hardcore communities. Here are eleven tracks of pure rage, a massive sound that encompasses death riffs, punishing breakdowns, thick rhythms, mayhem-inducing beats, and a technical precision that borders on frightening. "Killing With A Smile" will appeal to all extreme music fans.
