Reviews Customer Reviews for Nothing To Prove Another Great Album Rating: The Teen Idols did it again. Kevin, the new singer, had some big shoes to fill. There's nothing punk-rock kids hate more than change: ironic, isn't it?. However, this record makes the transition from old to new nearly seamless. People will always say that "the old way was better. I liked the band when they were 16 years old and playing in the record store." Well, too bad. This album is every bit as catchy as Pucker Up and Full Leather Jacket. The music is not a dead ringer for the old stuff, though the quality is still intact. It shows maturity and mastery(as many good bands do by their fourth album). The best part of the music, as usual, is the T.I. style harmonies that cannot be rivaled by any punk-rock band of their time. Heather's lead vocals shine in I Can't Think. Matt lays on some nice punchy guitar overtop of Philip's consummate Motown-style wailing. Their style of harmonizing is no easy task. For Kevin to come aboard and parallel Heather is amazing. If you don't listen to this album because of the Keith/Kevin switch, you are a butt-head. It's still the Teen Idols.
Customer Reviews for Nothing To Prove Cd yuck. Rating: Hi, i'm from nashville and have been a fan of the teen idols for a while, but since they found this new singer, they suck and they broke up soon after. I love all of their work when keith, the old singer was still in the band because he really added fire to the band. one of the last shows i saw was right before he left and it ended with keith ripping his shirt off and fighting some rednex who got too violent in the pit. anyway, this cd sorta sounds like them, but if you're just listening to them for the first time, try out pucker up or any of the others.
