Reviews Customer Reviews for Eraserhead Original Soundtrack F*** Heineken, ERASERHEAD Rating: umm...David Lynch's movie...beautiful/horrifying, introspective/alienating, creepy as f*ck, thought provoking, wicked. I've never been this awestruck and emotionally evoked in my life. The movie is excellent... but the soundtrack is otherworldly. Natural noise emantes and shocks the soul through this difficult yet wonderous film (film, not movie!) and culminates with the celestial song, "In Heaven." I don't own the soundtrack, but the one "real" song "In Heaven" is worth every penny you're likely to spend. The Pixies have covered it several times--both "Black" Francis and Kim Deal (the last time i saw them, she opened with it solo and it was retaaaaded)--and if there's a veryifying source of good taste, it's gotta be the Pixies! Nevertheless, David Lynch(not alone) crafted the most beautiful and equally creepy song of all time, "In Heaven." "In Heaven, everything is fine, 2X, you've got your good things... and i've/you've got mine..." O my GOD!!!! If this review doesn't convince you, Lynch himself in the Eraserhead DVD, claims that making the soundtrack to this film was the best time in his life! Beautiful...Only a mad genius has a haircut like that...
Customer Reviews for Eraserhead Original Soundtrack Cd very little music Rating: This album contains very little actual music. The best stuff are the snippets of Fats Waller playing pipe organ. If you want that stuff, go to the source: get "Young Fats at the Organ." It has the complete recordings of all the snippets heard on this CD and you can appreciate them in their true context. They're not creepy, but very beautiful and somber recordings, very much worth listening to. I like this film a lot, and have seen it many times, but I have to admit that this CD is pretty lacking in comparison. Movie =A ; CD =C+
