Reviews Customer Reviews for It S Only Time Better than expected Rating: I have to agree with other comments. The music on this CD is very good. Drake Bell reminds me of an early version of the Beatles. My grandson loves listening to this music.
Customer Reviews for It S Only Time Cd You should own this. Rating: If you're apt to call his first effort Telegraph wonderfully dark, then just the opposite is true for Drake Bell's It's Only Time -it's wonderfully light. "Up Periscope" could be a cousin to "Yellow Submarine." "I Know" is a great pop number that I know should have been a hit when it was first released. "Makes Me Happy" makes me "imagine" a 23 year-old John Lennon singing on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. The latter half of this gem harkens less far back in time to 1969 when the Beatles released what was to be their last album Abbey Road. Like the b-side of the Beatles classic, Bell has a trio of songs (Fallen for You, Rusted Silhouette and Break Me Down) that combine together nicely. For the record, I love "Rusted Silhouette" the most of the three probably because he sounds so much like John Lennon in his early days (the lyrics are great too). Instead of Abbey Roads "End" we get "End it Good" which actually does, if not too soon, but after all, its only time.
Editorial Reviews for It S Only Time Audio Cd Amazon.com Drake Bell would like to take some time and tell you what he really wants to say, or at least that's what he sings on "Rusted Silhouette," one of the thoroughly charming pop tunes he glides through on this, his major-label debut. What he put thought into saying on It's Only Time isn't exactly earth-shattering--the teen-targeted, relationship stuff he's spouting has been set forth a million different ways before. But there's something in Bell's punched-up delivery and the sunniness of his Beatles-inspired music that compels the helpless listener--even if she's not 11, even if she's never heard of his Nickelodeon TV show Drake & Josh--to keep humming along. That something is charisma. Not only does Bell have excellent hair, as throngs of swollen-hearted admirers have observed on fan sites, he also has a regular-dude persona he's skilled at channeling with just his voice. He's the guy every guy wants, or wanted, to be in high school: cool, chummy, a babe magnet. Former geeks and goths may take issue, but expect an eventual conversion. It's Only Time, most likely, and Bell knows it. --Tammy La Gorce
