Reviews Customer Reviews for Inches From The Mainline What? Rating: Ridiculous name, ridiculous to think they would be good. I had a friend talk me into listening to them when this cd came out...how could I have been so foolish. It is a mush of nuish alternative metal that is just cheesy and mixed poorly. The band should only be making fun of bands like this on sketch comodies.
Customer Reviews for Inches From The Mainline Cd Slaves can't Die!! Rating: Slaves on Dope's "Inches from the Mainline" is an intense album from a talented band. Their follow-up release, "Metafour", was seemingly a step in the wrong direction from a band who had a lot of potential in the Alt-Metal genre after the release of "Inches". After its appearance on Ozzfest, the Canadian rockers developed quite a fan base and put out an album that is very brutal but surprisingly catchy at the same time.
"Fallout", "Inches from the Mainline", and "No More Faith" all combine lead vocalist Jason Rockman's shrieking with melodic choruses from bassist Frank Salvaggio that give the band its distinctive sound. "Pushing Me", "Leader of Losers", and "Stick it Up" all carry Rockmans voice throughout their entirety, but they are delivered with a degree of power that any metal fan can appreciate. Moments of Wah Wah pedal and tremolo effects throughout the album show a degree of creativity on the part of the band's guitarist, Kevin Jardine. "I Can't Die" is a slower song, for the most part, but the vocals are not turned down at all. The song is screamed from start to finish, showing Rockman's uncanny ability to scream his lungs out.
There are many other bands out there that are similar to Slaves, but Slaves are better than most at what they do. The musicianship and vocal assault that made them such a great live act to see in the early 2000's truely shows on "Inches from the Mainline".
