Reviews Customer Reviews for A Love Supreme      A voice supreme      Rating:      If the "Grammys" was created as an acknowledgement of the talent, i could wonder how this Chanté Moore's album hasn't won at least one of them, when it was released. But considering some of the winners that i've seen recently over their stage, my soul is suddenly relieved. Often they aren't looking about real talent, and real music, so everything comes clear. It's sad when i read reviews of very bad albums and i see people which gives a "five stars" ranking to them just because "he/she's a Grammy winner". This gives me more than a clue of how much the commercial promotion (something that i consider poorly related to the artistical value of a disk) can have an influence on today's musical tastes. I share the opinion that the repertory of the first two albums of Chanté Moore has been a step above the more recent chapters of her discography. Probably, her old productions style was more suitable to catch the huge potentialities of her talent, and this has created a chemistry that we don't find when we listen her more recent releases. However, "A Love Supreme" is Chanté at her best, an album that every R&B lover must have in his personal collection, because it represent one of the rare examples of a successful merge between "old school" sounds and modern arrangements. I've loved Chanté's voice since the first time that i've heard her classy and unique tone, and i must say that she's amazing in her live performances. Actually she's one of the few singers that can really "hypnotize" me! And when a performer can catch your attention in this way, simply with the sound of her voice (without the need of stellar scenographies and special effects) you can say that she's a true artist. The sultry sound of her voice makes you forget every problem you may have. This is a replacement because my Chante collection mysteriously came up missing. Please check out her duets with Keith Washington (I Love You) and one with Kenny Latimore (When I say I do) actually got married off those two. Don't forget "I Cry to Myself" from This Moment is Mine CD.....priceless. The list goes on so I will spare you. Check her out!
