Reviews Customer Reviews for Superhero Someone please stop him producing his own albums ....... Rating: This CD completely extinguished my interest in Brian. The grossly overblown production, so shocking after the relative restraint of "Back At One", just ruins the effect of a fantastic voice which he doesn't have the discipline to record to best effect or the humility to use with sensitivity.
Customer Reviews for Superhero Cd A little weaker than the last but still good Rating: Brian Mcknight returned with his sixth CD titled Superheo. The CD features more of the quiet storm balladary Mcknight is known for, however on this CD it begins to drag a little bit. The first single Love Of My Life may be one of the strongest songs, Brian has ever recorded vocally. Love Of My Life" is sung entirely in falsetto and he hits an E5; which is beyond the range of most tenors.) The transition between his falsetto and head voice is also smoother than most singer's in the game. The other two standout songs were My Kinda Girl feat. Justin Timberlake and What's Gonna Be. My Kinda Girl had Justin & Brian doing an excllent tag team R&B duet while What's Gonna Be gave us a smooth jazz cafe type feel. This wasn't Mcknight's best, however it is one of the weakest in his catlog.
Editorial Reviews for Superhero Audio Cd Amazon.com Brian McKnight still works his patented platinum midtempo grooves on his sixth album, but here he turns the beat around a bit and mixes it up with some new partners. For strange bedfellows, check out "My Kind of Girl," a collaboration with Justin Timberlake. The teaming of the Prince of Pimple Pop and the veteran R&B star is a head-scratcher on paper, but it sure sounds sweet as they wrap their voices around a gentle acoustic-tinged track that floats with effortless ease. McKnight, who handles most production, writing, and instrumental chores, rocks out on the title track and throws down with Nate Dogg on the pulsating "Don't Know Where to Start." It all proves that McKnight can create make-out music for housewives and homeboys alike. --Amy Linden
