Reviews Customer Reviews for Never Take Friendship Personal Emotions, Emotions, Emotions Rating: You know how there are those album where the songs seem to be about every last cliche possible? This album is the absolute antithesis of such albums.
Never Take Friendship Personal is an album filled with an entire lifetime of emotion. It goes over backstabbing, dealing with an alcoholic, staying in love with someone who you know has cut you off, and cheating on someone. And the lyrics are pristine. They're filled with so much emotion, you can't help but feeling caught up in it, feeling like you're part of the situation.
The melodies are divine, and the rhythms perfect. It captures full-scale beauty in its mix of a huge vocal range and a rock approach to music that just cannot be matched. The ballads are even ones to appreciate. Friendship marks an important part in Anberlin's career: the day they matured into a real band.
The sound just can't disappoint. Hard, soft, meaningful, headbanger--it's your choice! There's a song on here for everyone. When you find it it seems to call your name. It's really a universal album. you can't go wrong.
Customer Reviews for Never Take Friendship Personal Cd This Album Will NOT Disappoint You! Rating: If you have heard Anberlin, you know how incredibly talented they are. If you haven't heard of Anberlin, give this CD a listen and you'll be sure to agree. The songs are beautifully written - both lyrically and instrumentally. The members of Anberlin are one-of-a-kind. Unlike most bands now-a-days, they make music because they love it.. not for the fame or money. In the process they have touched many people's lives through their music which is extremely important to them, and they're definitely thankful for the fans. "Mever Take Friendship Personal" - we've all had friendships that have ended, or just fights with friends in general - I guarantee you'll be able to relate to most of the lyrics, if not all. Buy the album, it's worth every penny!!
Editorial Reviews for Never Take Friendship Personal Audio Cd Amazon.com There's only one word that comes immediately to mind when describing Anberlin's Never Take Friendship Personal release. The word? Amazing. This is one of those truly remarkable releases that is so refreshing, so defining, and so well done, you will feel a need to let every know about it. Much like Switchfoot's The Beautiful Letdown and D.C. Talk's Jesus Freak, Anberlin's second release captures the musical styles of the day but recasts them in a unique and exciting way. Much credit up front should go to producer Aaron Sprinkle, who never lets the music overshadow Steven Christian's emotive alto vocals. Joseph Milligan's guitar work is nothing short of phenomenal and propels such blistering tracks like "Paperthin Hymn," "Runaways," and "Feel Good Drag." Let's not forget the rock-steady rhythm from drummer Nathan Young and bassist Deon Rexroat that continually lays down a concrete foundation. Also worthy of note is the intelligent songwriting that prevails throughout the release, showing that Christian-based bands don't always check their brains at the studio door. Moody at times, exhilarating at others, this is a giant leap forward for a relative newcomer in Christian music. It's also a release worthy of widespread acclaim and a breath of fresh air in a genre that is sadly growing all too predictable. --Michael Lyttle
