Reviews Customer Reviews for Me Against The World one of tupac's best c.ds Rating: 2PAC IS THE GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME!!!!! HE WAS ONE OF THE MOST CHARISMATIC, OUTSPOKEN, PERSON, WHO WAS NOT AFRAID TO SHARE HIS TRUE FEELINGS AND STRUGGLES WITH THE WORLD. HIS 3RD C.D. "ME AGAINST THE WORLD", WHICH WAS A MASTERPIECE, SHOWED THE MANY EMOTIONS HE WAS FEELING DURING 1994 AND 1995. 2PAX RECORDED PART IF THE ALBLUM WHILE RECOVERING FROM 5 GUNSHOT WOUNDS. MANY OF THE SONGS ON THE ALBLUM TELL THE STORY OF A MAN ON THE EDGE. EXAMPLES OF THIS CAN BE FOUND ON THE SONGS LIKE, "SO MANY TEARS", "LORD KNOWS", "IF I DIE 2NITE", ANDALSO "DEATH AROUND THE CORNER". BUT EVEN WITH THOSE SONGS THE C.D. ,SONGS LIKE DEAR MOMA , TEMPTATIONS, AND IT ANIT EASY HELP TO BALANCE OUT THE C.D. ME AGAINST THE WORLD IS A GREAT C.D. THAT WAS GOOD IN 1995 AND IS STILL GREAT MORE THAN 10 YEARS AFTER ITS RELEASE. I WOULD RECOMMENED THIS TO ANYONE WHO IS A FAN OF 2PAC. ITS ONE OF THE REASON Y HE IS A LEGEND.
Customer Reviews for Me Against The World Cd My First True Exposure To 2PAC Rating: Admittedly, I was never a huge fan of his but this album made me respect the talent that this tragic figure had. What turned me onto this album was "Dear Mama." Having been raised by a single mom after she and my dad divorced, I could feel some of the emotions that 2PAC was relaying in this rap tune. Even my own mom liked this and she HATES rap!
Other songs that I liked were the title track, "So Many Tears" and "Young N***az." Overall, the whole album is a classic! Would highly recommend this album!
Editorial Reviews for Me Against The World Audio Cd Amazon.com essential recording The gruesome details surrounding Tupac's third solo offering are enough to give any music fan the willies. Released when Tupac was in jail serving time for a rape conviction and just after his recovery from being shot-up gangland-style at a recording studio, this was his most introspective piece of work to date. The heavy-hearted album opens up with a radio commentary describing the circumstances surrounding his shooting, and then plunges headfirst into Pac's infatuation with death. "So Many Tears," "Death Around the Corner," and "If I Die 2Nite" are all dark, eerily prophetic tunes that lend credence to widespread theories which suggest that Pac anticipated his impending death. The perpetually thugged-out wonder reveals a more benevolent side when it comes to gender and family issues. On "Dear Mama"--a fitting tribute to his mother recorded in the "Keep Ya Head Up" vein--Pac takes listeners into the loving recesses of his heart, while on "Can U Get Away," he echoes similar respectful sentiments to black womynkind. This is probably Pac's most progressive issues-oriented release before he signed to Death Row and became a full-blown thug. --Dalton Higgins
